The Canal du Midi or Canal des Deux Mers connects the Garonne river to the Mediterranean Sea and was considered one of the greatest construction work of the 17th century. It was inscribed as a Unesco World Heritage Site in 1996. Despite a lack of planning, the Canal du Midi by bike offers to roam through our region and enjoy its resources.

Details

You will cruise on the boat ‘le Cocagne’, along with your bike. This barge-cruise will start on the Canal du Midi harbor in Carcassonne, and will drop you off a few kilometers further on the Canal du Midi towpath. This tour will allow you to fully enjoy the numerous works along the Canal du Midi. A map is provided to locate yourself on your tour.

Details

Bike tours to discover Carcassonne from a different angle, from the Canal du Midi to the Medieval City, going through the Bastide Saint-Louis and the Aude riverbanks, freely enjoy stunning views and the riches of Carcassonne. The tour includes 3 loops of a total length of about 15km, only the access to the drawbridge requires a 50m ascent.
